Patch Borders
Merrowed
A thick, wrapped overlock edge. Classic look for round, oval, and simple shapes; not suited to sharp inside corners or intricate outlines.
Hot-Cut / Laser-Cut
The patch is cut to follow the artwork’s outline. Suits custom shapes and detailed edges, with a slimmer finished edge.
Stitched
A satin-stitch border sewn as part of the design. Handles more complex shapes than merrowed edges.
Molded PVC Edge
A raised border formed in the PVC mold itself. Used only with PVC patches.
Patch Backings
Sew-On
The most permanent option. Works on nearly any fabric and is recommended for leather, frequently washed items, and heat-sensitive materials.
Heat Seal / Iron-On
Adhesive activated with heat. Convenient for many cotton and poly-blend garments; not recommended for PVC, nylon, leather, or heat-sensitive fabrics.
Hook-and-Loop
Makes patches removable and swappable. Popular for tactical gear, bags, and uniforms with loop panels.
